At this point, might want to grab a rental car and start driving. Might be quicker.

Re: TS Joaquin

I'm watching the weather channel now, they are also now admitting the European model is the correct one and the storm is going out to sea.

Hmmm, starting to get a bit embarrassing that those "Western European Socialists" are doing a better job than we are in forecasting what's happening on our side of The Pond...

;-)

Certainly not a done deal yet, but if their forecast turns out to be the one, it's pretty stunning how much earlier they were on it, when hardly a single other model was in concurrence...

Thanks for that info. Meanwhile in newsrooms all up and down the east coast people are saying "DAMN we are not going to be able to milk this storm story much longer!" Of course here at the mooring I'm between the high to the north and a low and Joaquin to the south. The pressure gradient is making things exciting enough tonight. May be more exciting tomorrow. Gusts to 35 knots and coastal flood warnings. Don't need anymore excitement from Joaquin adding to the mix! Still keeping a weather eye on Joaquin though. I recall one October storm headed out to sea then circled back around. Don't recall if it was part of the "Perfect Storm" but, might have been.

Hey Fellas,

Too newb to send PMs. I'll be at the New Bern Grand by Friday afternoon to yank the canvas down and would love to know where the $2 beers can be found!

Hiya Shoes -
Go hit the song chain to earn your pm privs . . . or just post some nonsense here (you're only a few posts away). I am in NWC just outside of New Bern. Don't know where Mark and SoL are . . . (apparently its a state secret ). Anyway, I just pushed my car reservations back to tomorrow night since it looks like Joaquin is gonna stay offshore. I'll let you know if my plans change. What are you sailing?
Matt
