1 part areosol spray epoxy

Anyone used the Homax tub and tile refinishing stuff on their boat fiberglass? It says it is a 1 part epoxy and it comes in a spray can so would be a lot easier to put on than gel coat. I would be using it on an interior space so UV resistance is not a big issue. The specs page on it says that it will adhere to fiberglass.

Mostly curious is anyone has used it and had horrible results with it. The price for it is quite high but the areosol can would make application quite a bit easier. Ideally I would like a spray can of gel coat but I am not finding such a thing.

The plan is to paint some of the interior and then leave for 4-5 days while it cures and the volatiles that make you vote republican dissipate.

i have used the 2 part stuff, its okay. i have seen a few tubs that have had it that chipped and peeled some after years. i dont know if it was prepped right or not.

i do think for inside a boat it would be fine, but pricey, 20 bucks for one that does about 15 square feet. i would use oil based paint inside before the tub stuff for cost reasons. at least with a good sanding first

The girlfriend wants to use paint as well but I am not sure about how it would look and hold up. The tub stuff is pretty expensive. It is $50 for 2 cans and I think I would need 4 or so. A gallon of gel coat is about the same but it is harder to work with. The girlfriend had her tubs done professionally with the epoxy stuff and she said it worked very well for that.

I will need to sand down some bumps and what not anyway so just about anything that will stick to fiberglass should stick really well.

Use Interlux Brightside - one part and easy to use with hard wearing results.
