Hello: Being new to sailnet I hope I am in the aera for this post. I am looking at a Gib Sea 42 Ketch for offshore use. I have been unable to find out much about these boats other than they were bought by Dufour. Are these suitable for the use I am considering. any and all information is appreciated, also if anyone knows about the way these boats were built would be great, ie: are they solid layup or cored, what are the hull thickness at the sheer, turn of the bilge and at the keel attachment. Thanks

I think I have looked at that boat about 10 years ago in Nanaimo. It seems to be a well-founded hull. I thought that the electronics (even then) were outdated, and that the interior could use some modification. But all being said, it was a lot of boat for the money.
