I purchased a 2002 Beneteau 50 over 12 months ago and while having a new chart plotter installed before the delivery voyage I was asked the question by the local Raymarine technician if I had any teenage daughters. The technician saw my confused look and explained that the only rational explanation for the state of my wiring was that I had allowed a teenage girl to do the wiring. I have spent a lot of time since the purchase rectifying the previous owners electrical sins and am reasonably sure I have sorted most of these out. A lot of repairs, new connections, new wiring in some cases and now feel a lot more confident when I switch on a saloon light on that my bilge pump does not kick in as well.
At the start of my foray into the electrical repairs I had sought information from the Beneteau dealers here in Australia regarding information on my wiring system on my boat. I thought that being a production boat with many boats being produced that there must be a wiring schematic somewhere. Despite my exhaustive search, I have been able to only find basic information on wiring group numbers allocated to certain circuits, somewhat helpful, but still not what I am after.
Can anyone assist with my search or has already tracked this information down, it will save me a lot of heartache when doing further repairs.
