Hi Guys,

Just bought an Oceanis 2008. Boat is in another country at the moment. It has a track on the mast for a Spinnaker pole but no pole. From what I remember when I viewed it it had Halyard exits for spinnaker halyard.

My question is, if it didn't come with a spinnaker form the factory will the attachment points be on the deck for the sheets and braces?

Just wondering how hard it will be to rig up a spinnaker

Thanks

Fletch

Hard to say... got any pictures?

btw - what size Oceanus?

At least you've got the mast connection - or is it just the track (no ring/pole fitting?)..
How about a crane and block for the halyard at the masthead?
Is the mast set up for a pole lift?
Do you have free clutches, fairleads, turning blocks, padeyes for the pole downhaul and pole lift to be led aft to the cockpit?
Does the boat already have a dodger that will interfere with running such lines?

Pictures will help a lot, some of this stuff may well be there.

If none of it is, you're looking at some serious coin by the time you set all that up, buy a pole and the spinnaker itself.

Why would you want to run a symmetrical spinnaker on an Oceanis? I mean, that's a cruisy boat more often seen with an asym in a sock.
