I owned and sailed one for several years in the 90's. I lived aboard for a year through a rainy winter and it was a warm and cozy little home. It was quick and well mannered both upwind and down. I sailed it in some truly harsh conditions up and down the Pacific Northwest coast. Beware the wood rudder, mine sheared at the waterline in a gale 50 miles out. The balsa cored deck is very vulnerable to water intrusion and rot. Overall a nice little boat seaworthy enough for coastal sailing.
i took the day sunday to look at this boat, was very disapointed it had not had T L C . I would need a lot of work to even sail it . i dont need a big job, just need to sail. ive got a great tanzer in mind twice the shape for less money
Blackbart500...I've also owned 2 Tanzer 22's a fixed keel, and a keel/centerboard. Great little boats (the swing keel model was faster and sailed way above its west coast phrf rating (225)).
I'm recalling a C&C 25 for sale in the seattle area. Not sure about interior condition, outside looks nice, raced frequently................look in classifieds of 48° North - The Sailing Magazine there is an online version of the magazine.
