27 vs 29 Feet

Unless I was buying a boat that I planned to own forever (or a very long time), I would never buy one needing a new motor. You can have a working motor surveyed by a mechanic and know what you're buying. At least, one should get comfortable that it isn't going to blow apart soon.

No matter what you buy, you'll find more, or more will break after you buy. Starting with an investment that is going to put you upside down on value vs investment, you can get stuck quickly. Again, doesn't matter as much, if you're keeping her for a long time.

If you like a 29 ft better, I say go find a 29 in good shape.
