In 1994 the present owners purchased S/V Moondancer, then known as S/V Far Ranger. In 1996 they hauled S/V Moondancer out of the water, where they spent the next 8 years doing a complete refit. The original teak decks were removed and all wood was replaced, fiberglassed and painted with all-grip and non-skid.
At that time, the toe rails, life lines and all rigging was replaced.
All through holes were replaced.
New Fuel tank was custom built.
A new Yanmar engine was installed, with new gauges, harness and wiring.
The haul, mast and decks were painted.

The interior was completely redone with new cushions, paint, refrigerator, stove and hot water heater. More storage cupboards were installed.

In 2007 new main, mizzen and jib sails were purchased, as well as a new roller furling installed.

Other upgrades were:
2009 new refrigerator
2012 new electric toilet
2012 new water pump

S/V Moondancer is located in Bocas del Toro, Panama
