Hey all,
I have a renovation project with a Helms 24. I removed the plate that holds the mast into the step to rum some new wires. I found an application of some material
that surround the are where the plate fits into the mast tube that is very hard and was obviously cast and hardened into the area to "Seat" the plate so the it fits the mast better. Can anyone tell me what that material is or what its called so that I can get some and finish up my mast project.
Your help will be very appreciated!
Thanks!

It sounds like a bedding compound. Probably a polysulfide (3m 101) or Dolfinite. Can you take a picture of the "cast" material? Can you take a picture of the area involved so we can see the parts? What colour is the material?
