Hey all,

So I'm the new guy :D

A little bit about me...

I am moored in Nanaimo BC. I have a wife and two kids who love getting out on the water, we are planning on spending more time at anchor this year at one of the many amazing destinations around the Georgia Straight. Can not wait!

I consider myself a novice sailor. I became certified to the bronze level way back when... I purchased my boat thinking I knew what I was doing, boy has it been a humbling experience so far

Humbling, but very fun none the less.

A little bit about the boat... She is a 1075 Cal 2-27. New main a few years ago, new 130% genoa that I will be picking up from the sail maker this week. Brand new rigging (last year) and not one working navigation light :(

The nav lights are my first order of business this spring. Presently, I am researching light requirements for my vessel, suitable replacements, how to wire it all up etc etc.

What can I say, she needs a lot of work but so far it has been very rewarding. A very rewarding money pit lol

Anyway, I will be here perusing the forums in search of knowledge.

Thanks for having me

Well, I had no idea they made those boats back then :p ;)

Sorry.... 1975, I'm guessing?

Welcome.. you're fortunate to live in such a cruising grounds as we do.. We just spent a pretty enjoyable weekend afloat, while back east they're lucky to be able to find their cars in snowdrifts still...

Nanaimo is a pretty nice starting point for cruising in any direction here in BC, you can't go wrong no matter which way you head!
