Hullawrerr (that's Glaswegian for Hi)

For the first 60 years of my life, I lived in Scotland. Presently, I am staying in Calvert Count in MD, where my wife and I are looking after her parents. I recently bought a Morgan 30 and it is based in Flag Harbour on the western shore of the Chesapeake Bay. Before that, I had a 23' Virgo Voyager in the UK, based near Edinburgh.

I was brought up messing about in boats. Most of my experience has been cruising amongst the islands on the west coast of Scotland, which is certainly an excellent environment for learning to cope with the challenges of sailing, as well as being stunningly beautiful.

I enjoy the actual sailing and the "boat improvement" process in equal measure, so there is plenty of interesting stuff on SailNet to keep me constantly interested and amused (just as long as you guys keep away from politics!).

Being retired has opened up a whole new world of boating, especially being able actually to get tasks completed in a reasonable timescale.....
