I had them fix a unit for me back in May and had no problems whatsoever. Took about a week. The unit was a Garmin GPSMap 192C, which is the primary chartplotter/GPS on my boat.

It might be a good idea to escalate your call to someone higher up the food chain. Have you tried asking to speak to a supervisor? IF not, give that a shot. Often, bumping a problem higher up the food chain gets results when other things just don't.
 
There was a website, and I'll see if I can find the URL for it, which listed the direct contact phone numbers and e-mail addresses of quite a few higher ups at quite a few companies for resolving issues just like this. I know Garmin was on the list of companies. :)
 
Even the best companies drop the ball once in a while. Good to see that Garmin has found the ball and picked it back up. :)
 
It would be a serious marketing error not to at least keep an eye on sailing forums if you're a big company that sells to the sailing market.
