Hello:

I'm in the tropics...

What’s the general opinion about leaving the boat at the dock for extended periods of time with the air conditioning on the Dehumidify setting?

Is this effective for humidity / odor control?

Is it safe?

Any concerns?

You're much better off increasing ventilation, rather than trying to rely on a dehumidifier or air conditioning. It will require far less power and probably work better as well. Inadequate ventilation is generally the major cause of mold/mildew problems. Solar powered ventilators, like those made by Nicro, are a really good idea—especially when installed in pairs, one as a intake and the other as an exhaust.
