I don't know if anyone else has posted this or not, but in case not, here's a neat site that gives you live AIS coverage along the coastlines worldwide. If you have internet on your boat you could use it like an AIS receiver (obviously not as good). We "watched" our kids get underway this morning in Key West from our house in Washington state. Pretty nice. We use it to track the barges that come to our island (no ferry) so we know when they are arriving.
