Be Afraid.. be very afraid.... Fortunately someone re-routed the heavy current lines from the plugs but they still had very bad connections even on the light duty wires.

Just an update! I'm ready to make it all "hot" today5/30 (praying to the 12 volt gods) the fuel pump and glow plugs have new wiring by a PO that runs back to the gauge panel so they don't need to come to/from the new terminal strip by the engine.

Thank you Stu! I started this project it was cold out! Today I charged the engine battery and now seems ok. I'm fried. The ACR is pretty cool to see in action. having a near dead engine battery. The glow coils must be hotter too because she started very easy this time!

Good news, that's great. Watching an ACR (or ec or combiner) work is way cool. Saves switching.

You are aware of the potential shortcomings of your dual circuit switch, right? And know how to use it?

Maine Sail has reported that you MUST be very careful with energizing glow plugs too long, especially when you have done what you've accomplished: new wire, good connections (for a change!!!:puke - that was for the OLD ones!!!:D). This is because all of a sudden (yeah, I know you've been working on this for a while) you DO have POWER to them, more than ever before. They were designed to take into account the normal sh*tty voltage drop, so they expect 10.5 or so V, now they're gettin' 12+!!! WOW.

Just reduce your normal glow plug time when the engine's cold. You;ll be amazed all over again, like Groundhog Day!

Way to go, girl! :thewave:
