Hello sailors,
I own a 1991 Americat with a BF40 Honda outboard. There is a throughhull and there are brackets on the stbd rudder and the outboard to connect a bar to both to support steering. This bar is missing! Does anybody have any idea where to buy one or do you have a picture of that bar so I can make one?

Thanks a lot

Hi Carsten,

I expect you already have an answer, but maybe some people who own these boats will find the site when searching and we can help each other. This is the bracket that holds the steering cable in place and is mounted on the boat. The attachment to the rudder arm is just a bolt with a special shaped bushing which someone made by stacking washers on my boat. I cannot find the C shaped metal connector, but if you still need it, I can look a few more places. My boat is a 1992 Americat 3014. I can also try to get this photo

Thanks,

Dave
