I'm in the process of selling my 2014 Catalina 315. Survey and sea trial are completed and the buyer wants to complete the purchase. They want to use Ancortes Marine Documentation to complete the transaction. Not to document the boat....just to complete the transaction. I'll give Anacortes the title and other info they may ask for, and the buyer will give them the funds. Then Anacortes gives the title to the buyer and the dollars to me.

I'm not sure about using them. They have several bad reviews on Yelp. Anyone here have any experience with them? By the way, the buyer is taking care of the fees Anacortes charges.

We used them three times, once selling and twice buying. These were supposed to be straight forward cash trasactions but enough money that all parties wanted to insure that everything was done honestly and correctly. You might like to think that people would be candid, honest and not try to cheat you. That is not the world we live in. We have personally been saved a lot of trouble by going throught this company. Years ago they found that the seller had undisclosed partners. This was on a US documented boat. It was, and still is, a special custom Bill Garden boat so we stuck with the purchase after the documentation company straightened things out. Note, it took a while because they could not find one of the partners. I would and in fact plan to use them again.
