What do you mean by "gone"? If it is physically not at the top of the mast, that isn't unusual. I discovered that when my C30 was built the anchor light was an option that the new owner (at the time) didn't choose to purchase. We still don't have an anchor light at the top of the mast.

What do you mean by "pretty tight in there"? Where is "there"?

lol. I'm sorry, yes it is missing. while looking down from top of mast, you have to look past your halyard cables and the shreaves or pulleys they run on. it's sealed of course but there is a couple of rusty looking screwheads down in and to the sides. Don't know how you could ever get to them. I was hoping someone had info how I could see what was supposed to be up there. It's an 84 c22. Oh yeah, don't really know if they are screwheads. All the people I know have there masts up so I can't compare. thanks

Catalina used pop rivets for most of their sheaves and the sort... easy enough to drill them out, and replace.

Also the bottom of the mast you can usually take the whole thing off, to expose the whole open extrusion... the top is another story, you'll likely need to work through a hole where the sheaves are, not sure there is an easier way. Catalina direct has a great replacement anchor light though, make sure to due yourself a favor and go LED....

OK, just looked and the Catalina 22 masthead is different than the Capri line. So you'll want this mast tube... and light.

Consider not putting the anchor light on the mast head and using a portable lamp like the Davis anchor light hanging from the forestay. Trouble shooting will be much easier down the road. Plus you save all that wire and weight.

This is what we're doing until we get to the item on the ever-expanding list when we drop the mast.
