OK, everybody can get their favorite anchors ready. I have the perfect location for the anchor test. We are in Simon's Town, South Africa and the navy have set out an area for anchoring in 5 to 10 m of water. They do point out that 50 knots is 'commonplace' and wind switches from NE to SW are frequent. Also you should bring your own boat for the test. All of the boats here are on docks or on very stout moorings. This includes the foreign boats (Australia, Sweden, France, Germany, Netherlands, Canada) that have each sailed tens of thousands of miles to get here. Should be a lot more foreign boats arriving in the next few weeks as weather conditions allow. Cape Agulhas is to the east and you really, really need the right conditions for that.
