I built a mooring using 3 27lb danforths , coming together at a swivel, - 50 feet of 1/2 inch chain - held through the hurricane in 100Knot gusts in Cocoa Florida. So I guess I am a fairly big believer in a Danforth - but agree you should have a couple of choices on board - had a rockna on the previous boat and it held very well, lots of chain certainly helps on whatever choice of anchor.
