Having 27 years of sailing and anchoring experience in the Chesapeake, I will tell you that Danforths are excellent for holding except in oyster shells and our all time favorite is the Manson Supreme. That anchor is amazing, holding our 41' 18,500# boat in anything, even the derecho that blew through a while ago. We have not had as good luck with the Delta or the claw. I would go with new technology instead of yesterday's. Get a Danforths as your backup, secondary.
