HI,

has anyone had any experience with using anti graffiti paint to
protect a hull bottom against barnacles? Apparently the main use of this paint is to
create a very slippery surface on walls which stops graffiti from sticking to them. Googling "anti graffiti paint" comes up with a lot of info.

regards

I doubt it'd work very well, as it isn't designed for continuous immersion in water. Also, the glue that barnacles use is amazingly sticky stuff...

Barnicles stick to whales

It seems like a good idea and may be worth a try. I would do a 'small test' area, just in case. It may actually give the sea weed or algea a better grip. There was a local guy who added halapenea peppers to bottom paint which worked fine in tests for keeping barnicles off. Since I don't hear about it anymore, either the marketing failed or the barnicles won. I'm afraid even good bottom paint won't stick around Marie Sharp's...me, I'm up to 5 drops per bowl of soup or scrambled egg serving and I don't have any barnicles :)
