NEVER MIND! I found something via google that suggests 5/16", so I may actually have the right size. THANKS anyway!!

I've searched the forum and downloaded and looked through the product manual and parts list, and nowhere can I find the specification for the furling line for a Furlex 200S. This is installed on the boat I recently purchased, and like so many other lines aboard, the furling line looks too large to me! I could be wrong--it seems to fit on the drum fine and looks like it's been used for a long time--but it seems larger than the stanchion block sheaves are designed for. It also seems larger than the furling line on the Sabre 30 I chartered earlier this year, although no doubt that was a different system. Thanks!

Generally you want as large a line as will fit, as you need to haul on it pretty heavily now and then. If thirty turns fit without any binding in the drum, then its not too large.

For some reason I thought that line size on these things was critical to avoid binding, etc. Turns out I did have the size in the parts list, just didn't immediately recognize the symbol for diameter, next to the line size in mm!

The real reason the diameter of the line is critical is so that you can get enough of the line on the drum to unfurl the sail.... Going with a high-tech line will often allow you to go a size down....
