Asa 106

1975 Views 2 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  Hudsonian
My husband and I are looking to take an ASA 106 course over the winter. I've found Maryland School of Seamanship and Blue Water Sailing School. Does anyone have any experience with either organizaton, specifically for the ASA 106 course? We are very familiar with the BVIs and have bareboated down there for years. We have our own boat on the Chespeake. We are looking for some longer distance sailing to challenge us.

I took ASA 106 from BWSS. Sailing across the gulf stream to Bimini was great experience. I took the catamaran option.
Several sailors I know have teken the Maryland School of Seamanship DELMARVA circumnavigation, an eight day cruise of Chesapeake Bay, Delaware Bay and the near coastal Atlantic Ocean up to 50 miles offshore for ASA 106 certification. All have spoken very highly of the training.
