Hi All,

I recently sent my Hynautic Steering cylinder to Southern Charm in FL
(Hynautic Steering and all hydraulic steering needs) for a total rebuild. I want to warn anybody thinking of doing business with this shop to beware. Twice they sent it back to me re-assembled incorrectly :hothead

1) When I went to re-install the cylinder in my Morgan I found they had installed the ram arm into the cylinder backwards  so that the mount to the boat was on the wrong end. I had to pay to send it back to them to correct the problem.

2) I just got the cylinder back for the second time and they took the metal
mounting plate which mounts it to the boat off the cylinder and forgot to reattach it nor did they even include it in the box. At this point they have gone home for the holiday weekend and I have no mount to attach the cylinder to the boat.

3) They originally quoted me $150-200 for the job then ended up charging me $350 without calling first to verify that price was still OK. Only after I wrote to complain did they offer to refund some of the difference.

I am not at all impressed with this outfit and would not recommend them to
anyone. I have not even installed the cylinder yet to see if it leaks but given
their already shoddy work I am worried about what else will go wrong.
