Well, they pull the docks out in Albany on the 24th, so after 8 weeks at home we needed a new place to be. I still have to work a bunch, so we figured I could become a frequent flier on Southwest since they have a direct flight from Baltimore to Albany. So.... we're underway as of this morning. Albany to Kingston to Haverstraw to NYC or Sandy Hook. We'll wait out the weather there (just missed a weather window from Yesterday to Wednesday) and then head down the coast, up the Delaware, through the C&D and to Baltimore in one shot (weather permitting). Anyway, info on our blog at s/v Pelican - Following A Dream, and you can follow us live (if you're bored) by clicking on the Follow Us link on the right side of our blog page.

Any idea where you're gonna tie her up and where you might be staying? We live in Baltimore inner harbor area (Locust Point to be exact) but we don't keep our boat there. Anyway would love to get together when you get down here.

Not sure where we're staying yet... I have to call around to the places in Baltimore, but we'd prefer to be near the inner harbor if we can get a decent price. Bloodhunter - we always love to visit!

Hey that's quite a hike. Enjoy the trip.

One of the wonderful things about following the likes of LaBatt and family (LaBattery ?) is the geography lesson us non Americans get. :)

Hey stop by in Rock Creek (entrance of the Patapco on the south side 3 miles before the Key Bridge. Tartan37Chef and I plus others keep our boats on the creek. I am at the Maryland Yacht Club and he is at Oak Harbor.

Our slips are about 20 minutes from BWI.

I moved to this area about 8 years ago from the South Jersey shore and it too a little getting used to people saying "down the ocean" when they went to the shore and of course...

Welcome to Baltimore.....and you have to end it with HON!!!!!!

We lived on our boat in the Anchorage marina for 3 months while our townhouse was being built for $250/month as I remember but that was about four years ago. Anchorage Marina is in Canton which is just beyond the Inner Harbor and very near Fells Point. If you're going to spend much time in Bawlmer you might conisder a water taxi pass. It's the best way to get anywhere around the Inner Harbor from Canton to Locust Point where we live. It runs all year round and cost us $75 for a yearly pass ( you break even if you use it six times. )
BTW if you're in a marina in the city you nmeed to get a flamino -- trust me , a pink flamingo

While in NYC you might try picking up a mooring at Pier 40 by Houston St. just north of the Holland Tunnel air shaft on the Manhattan side. They have about 16 moorings and a few are empty. They are operated by NYC Parks and the normal fee is around $40/night. Almost no services or amenities and you need a dink to get to shore. The last folks I steered to this place did not even have to pay (a few weeks ago) as the staff seem to think that the season is 'over'. Pretty sure Nyack Boat Club is around $25/night for a guest mooring - nice club and town. Nyack is only about 10 miles down river from Haverstraw though.
I hope your diesel repairs go smoothly.
Have fun.
