Of the 10 boats we owned, our 36CC was hands down the best boat we owned. We bought her new, mid 1999, and lived aboard the 1st 6 months. It was very comfortable for the two of us, well laid out, and the aft cabin perfect. She sailed extremely well, and had the same hull as the 361. Easily single handed and quite comfortable motion, our sea trial was in the bay just after a hurricane passed through. A little noise as the bow dropped, but not the hammering you often get.
We had our son aboard several times and the vberth was great for him. The 42 has a similar door and opening to the vberth, IIRC.
Down side was she had a very small holding tank and limited storage for long term use.
We wanted to move up to the 42 or 44cc, but could not find one for sale on the east coast, we settled for a hunter 42CC passage and it was "bigger" but not really as nice as the 36CC
