Super excited to be on the water in a new-to-me Albin Vega 27.
A bilge pump issue has me vexed: On auto, the pump (a Rule 2839) goes through a never ending cycle of turning on/pumping for a few seconds, and then resting. And then pumping. And then resting. And on and on.
* See pics below. Is the hose placement to blame? Maybe a check valve, up close to the exit point on the pump, will keep any back-fill out?
* The thick hose is the manual pump (triggered from the cockpit). The thinner hose is the feed from the pump. Not sure about this, but I believe the white pipe exits through what originally was the engine exhaust vent. No inboard now; was removed some years ago.
Any suggestions, thanks.
