Zincs might be going a little fast - about three months this time. Could I put one lead of the multimeter in the bilge water and the other to ground to see if I get a reading? OK, I can and I will go do that today but will it tell me anything?

In the past I have always emptied the bilge after every sail but I got a little lazy over the past couple months and I wonder if there might be a bad bilge pump wire. Would it even affect the zincs if there were a bit of bare wire?

The batteries don't act like there is any drain at all but what if it were just a very tiny bit of bare wire?

I did go to the boat and put the positive multimeter lead in the bilge water and attached the negative to the main negative bus bar. I got .6 volts.

Then I attached the positive lead to the faucet in the galley. Got .6 volts again. Do these readings have any connection to my zincs going faster than I think they should?

My AC goes from connection point on the boat to the galvanic isolator. Every black DC wire on the boat ends up on the negative bus bar then to a bolt on the the engine. Only the panel DC neg goes to a separate bolt on the engine.

Is three months for the zincs a serious problem or just the way things go sometimes?
