Sea Scouts is a part of Boy Scouts USA that accepts boat donations as a charitable organization. They teach sailing and boating to boys and girls ages 14-21 years old.

If you plan to deduct your charitable donation on your tax return, be sure to research the relatively new rules. Gone are the days where you just deduct the book value of your boat.

Good suggestion.
If you are donating just to be charitable, that is a good thing. If you are donating because you are having a hard time selling the boat and just want to get rid of it, you will come out way ahead money wise if you cut the price in half for a quick sale. The tax deduction you will get will be very few pennies on the dollar.
