So this may be a long shot, but I am looking for a software or a program to track my boat maintenance with a visualization component. Maybe I am over thinking it -- but I think it would be interesting.

Essentially I want to be able to have a line-drawing type image of the boat with locations of the seacocks, fuses, breakers, tanks, etc so I can keep track of what maintenance has been done when.

Right now, my solution is in Excel -- for example, on one tab I have a list of the seacocks (numbered) and when they were last serviced. On the next tab I have a crude drawing of the boat with numbers corresponding to where the seacocks are.

Anyone made anything like this?

I have done something similar in the past. I Googled my boat model, and found an image file of the interior layout, and one for the deck layout. I then used a Photoshop type application to clean up the image. Deleted, call-outs, removed the label for some of the interior stuff. I then put in clip art icons of my safety equipment etc. to show where the flares, fire extinguishers, portable VHF, PFDs, first aid, wine opener and other essentials are located.

To be honest I got off pretty lucky I have a Catalina and was able to find images of the plumbing layout including through hulls and tanks, the electrical layout, the general interior, that I added my safety stuff to, and the deck layout with all the running rigging. Having that head start made it much easier to modify those to show any changes or additions that I made.

Its not very difficult to do if you can find the line drawing to start with. Good luck.
