What works. I know that leather boat shoes are not very comfortable the seconed day when wet.
I suspect they would be worse cold.
Same for gloves.
WM sells gill short and tall sea boots.
There are the expensive gortex models.

Any favorites

Boots I use Gill

Gloves I use West Marine brand..BEST ever...and I've had from Harken to Ronstan..you name it..

I buy normally 6 pairs, and they last 1 year.

Personally, I like JetPilot brand Jetski gloves for year round use. They're close to indestructible...and very comfortable. About $15 a pair. For really cold weather, I have a pair of 3mm Neoprene scuba gloves. :) Completely waterproof and fairly warm.
