So, i pulled out my port lights and had new glass made up for them but i have my old ones.. It cost me $138 for all 4 . Any one going to do the same and need examples " patterns" and not want to nuke there boat yet?
I would be willing to donate these or get some cut here and ship them out to fellow Cal 29 owners..

That,is a very good question.. I do not have the answer for..
But i do have lots of pictures of my boat up on line and you can compare them?
I can also make so poster board copy's and you can take them to your local glass shop and have copy's made of them. Much easier than shipping glass to San Fran..

oh she looks like she will be sweet when you get all the work done. The 29 is very similar to the 28, except for the cockpit. You have that beefy volvo and we have a lazarette with an outboard in it. The extra foot in the 29 is right by the steps down into the cabin. I can sit in a 29 and see exactly where they stretched her.

Your baby is in much better shape over all, but we both have the crazed chalky gelcoat it seems.

Neat.. Have any pics of you baby? Mine is an IKE survivor and a bit rough. But i like her a-lot and love all the teak and brass. The weather down here gets rough fast and i wanted an older boat with a thicker hull these Cal's are built like tanks. Yet i find that they are rather fast and quite nimble on the water. Far more than i was expecting.
My gel coat is fine , its just some one put a bad coat of paint on top of it? i hit it with a pressure washer and it looked like a snow storm! " not that we know what that looks like down here , or you there".lol

Portlight's.. how do they compare with yours? I will have some pics up this weekend of the new glass install so it may be helpful to you two? all the caulking was powder when i removed the port lights! If they look close i will make you some patterns for yours.
its a good way to go Lexan is a pain and not a long term replacement " trust me on that" i have them is race cars that do not see a lot of sun and most of them are scratched on no one walks near them..

The ports look similar to the big ones, but the little one is different. I might guess that your little ones are after market, they have a look that seems in pics to not be in step with the rest of what I see. They are cooler... open up. Our little pots are either closed or sliders. I am looking at acrylic or glass.

we like the traditional wood look as well, although we are all trimmed in silver, not brass. we are a 67. I am guessing yours might be a newer build?

Yeah, but not by much 1970. The two small ones i am going to just replace because they are in such a sad condition that repair is just not an option.
I will send you a link to some i have found that would look great on your boat..

After staring at your portlights they look very much the same. The mounting is also the same so unless they just wanted to make stuff hard i think they are the same. PM me your snail mail and i will make some poster board templates for you guys.. when get them just hold them up to yous from the inside and if they match your in business.

Replacement windows and frames for the Cal 29 and 28 can (or could) be obtained from Mark Plastics, 369 E. Harrison St., Unit G, Corona, CA 91719, tel: (909) 735-7705 Fax: (909) 735-0701. They have (had) the original patterns and molds. We purchased replacements for a 1976 Cal 2-29 we owned until 2002 and they were excellant quality and relatively inexpensive.
