I am over an hour's drive from my boat, gathering the supplies needed to install an outboard engine for the delivery trip home. The A4 is a lost cause, so this will be a semi-permanent installation (no idea how long until I can afford a diesel!) and I want it very stout!

I need the measurements of the 'notch' in the transom, so I can fit a large Starboard backing plate for the outboard bracket. Please see the attached picture.

It's been over a month since you joined, but I just joined sailnet. Anyway, the measurements are:
Top width: 21 1/2"
Bottom width: 18"
Top of "vee" to transom top: 27 3/8"
Center @ drain to transom top: 33"
