Newbie Here! Been doing quite a bit of research on an 90-93 capri 26. Looking to get the family into sailing next season and need any insight on weight of the boat/trailering. I've got a truck (2006 Lincoln Mark LT, basically a beefed up version of a Ford F-150) that has a tow capacity of 8900lbs. I've found a few different weights on the boat from 5500 to 6500lbs. I'm guessing the inboard weighs closer to 6500lbs and an outboard is approx. 5500lbs? Throw in another 2000lbs for the trailer and I'm anywhere from 7500lbs - 8500lbs. Can anyone clarify the weight? Also, if an outboard is around 5500lbs plus trailer weight of 2000lbs, am I ok trailering it cross state based on my trucks specs?

Thanks for any insight!

Thanks for the feedback. I saw the pics on-line of the one in CA, but it's a little too far from home. Am looking to get one a little closer and that has been in fresh water. I'm guessing that one has been in the big drink? Anyone got specs for the weight on both the outboard and inboard setups? Found approx. 5100 - 5300lbs on the spec sheet thru this website, can't tell if it's displacement or dry weight? Thanks
