Dear all,
I need urgent help from all of you. I want to by Catalina 25 1987 and I have to transport overseas by container in Europe, but I'm very limited by container size. Because of that I want to remove fixed keel temporary. How I can do that without threads of big problem after. I sow on drafting of fixed keel, there is 5 nuts and washers and it's possible but I need yours advice and suggestion. Thanks a lot!

With the boat on a cradle, block the keel so it can't move.Remove the keel nuts and washers then jack up the hull.If it comes free lift the hull off with a crane. If it doesn't,chip away at the caulking in the keel to hull joint untill it does.A sabre saw with a long blade will help but don't damage the keel bolts.
I saw one done last year. The hardest part was getting the flatwashers off the keel bolts as they were jammed into the threads of the keel bolts.
Hope this helps.Be carefull!

Phil
