I heard the Sail only show in Chicago, February 1 - 4, is more of a trade show than a boat show. True? Would it be worth the drive from Detroit (4 - 5 hours) to drool over some new boats, or would I be just looking at new gear?
(I wanna'' drool!!!)

I go to the Chicago Strictly Sail show every year. You don''t see quite the selection of sailboats as other big shows, but its the largest show near where I live. I think there are plently of boats to drool over. Check out the following web site: www.boatshows.com
You can see a list of vendors to see if its enough of a selection for you. Rob

I have gone to chicago for last 4 years. It is a good show cosidering it is all in side and it is winter. I have found it a good hardware and vender information show.It is the only way I will get to see and talk to manufactors all in one place.Like this year I will be looking for new Liferaft and a spinnaker sock. A boat show in Febuary helps break up the winter.
