Hello first post first sail boat (TS) first project.

I have one of the few manual worm drive on cable keels.

Haven't even had her in the water thank goodness as removed the centre table top to find the cable un attached lol.

So does any one have the set up in pic or verbal form as we seem to have a safety wire and rope plus the winch wire

Congratulations on buying a Cole 23. They are a really nice boat!!

That winch looks pretty ancient. Faced with a similar issue when we bought our Hartley many moons ago, we swapped out the existing for a cheap stainless trailer winch and new cable - all off the shelf at Whitworths.
