My steel LP cylinders are rusted out and I need to replace them. I prefer not to have steel tanks and I can't find Aluminum tanks that will fit.

I did find a composite tank from Seaward that will fit. The tanks are DOT approved, but is that enough to get them filled? I should restate my question because I am sure that I can get them filled somewhere, what I really want to know is can I get them filled everywhere (i.e. Caribbean, US, Eurpore, etc.)?

We have composite propane tanks on our Gemini; never have a problem getting them filled.

You can get them filled in the US and Caribbean, but Europe will be a challenge. The only Europe-wide standard is Camping gaz cylinders, and country-specific regulations will not permit the legal filling of DOT approved cylinders of any type. Get the composite cylinders, but plan on filling them in Europe yourself by transferring the propane/butane from locally available cylinders.

Ditto with Gemini... we have 2 composite tanks and have had no issue with having them filled in the US or Bahamas...

I placed my order for these yesterday. I think that they will work out very well. Now I just need to figure out how to get the rust stain (from old steel tanks) off my awlgrip paint below where the LP vent hole on my transom is.
