Quick question...

What is your local rate for a compound polish and wax. Per foot. I got a guy who will do it for $20 a foot but unsure if that is a good rate or not. It includes all deck and above waterline hull.

Thanks.

He did a sample area for me. He started with a solvent wipe that removed some dirt and nastly little mold buggers. He then used a power buffer and 3M HD compound and buffed it out well. Next used a restore fine compound to polish and finally a coat of Wintex??? hard paste wax to protect. Looks good.

Possible concerns are that he used the same power buffer sheepswool pad for all the steps. (inbetween different compounds and wax he 'scraped' the pad with a metal tool while it spun which seemed to remove the caked on material) Not ideal as a new pad, but probably OK??
Also, used a lot of 3m compound but seemed to be rather light on the paste wax... I know you don't need much but can use use too little???

Haven't seen how he plans on doing the molded non-slip (my personal cleaning nemesis).

Of course, that is what he showed me (sample patch) he would do... Seeing as I was standing there watching him. I guess what he ACTUALLY will do to the whole boat is a bit of a mystery.;)

Unless I stand there and watch him do the whole boat:rolleyes:
