I (may) have a 40' boat with a centerboard. According to Sailboatdata she has a displacement of 20000 lbs and a ballast of 5530 lbs. According to multiple owner posts the keel weighs 2 tons (4500 lbs). The centerboard fulcrum is roughly midships with a slight after rake.

With the centerboard down I think there will be little change in the CLR but the CG will move significantly down and forward. What will this do to the stability, AVS and sailing characteristics?

Thanks. Paul
