I started group in the "community" section of this site. It is for "Southern California Coronado Owners Association" All Coronado owners welcome you don't have to be from CA.

The bulk of the members of this site seem to be concentrated on the Eastern Seaboard. If you check out the "destinations" board you'll see that the West Coast doesn't get much action. I'll keep on a eye on your community, not because I own a Coronado, but because I'm always looking for like minded sailors in SoCal. Where is your boat?

I live in Shelton, Washington & I have recently purchased a 68' Coronado-25. It is currently in Idaho and I will be traveling over there in late March or early April to pick it up. I got it from a longtime friend of mine for $1500.00. Boat includes a lot of little extras, motor, main, 2 jibs and a spinnaker. According to my friend, it has been well taken care of. Boat has been rewired, two of the winches upgraded to self-tailing, bottom done with 4 coats of antifouling. Didn’t hurt that it’s been in fresh water all this time. I would appreciate hearing from readers about upgrades and modifications to their Coronados. I will attempt to post some pics when I get the chance. Thanks!

Yes, for $1500.00 bucks, I couldn't pass it up. I celebrated my 53rd birthday last Friday by taking my family to Port Townsend, Washington. It is community with much maritime history and has transformed itself from a financially struggling town, to one that has seen growth and caters to the boating & sailing community. While there, I saw and took pictures of no less than 6 Coronado 25s! One of them is a year newer than mine & but looked so nice, I thought maybe it was manufactured later. Contacted the owner and chatted about his boat. Turned out to be a good thing- he said he was willing to sell his old main & two jibs to me for $400.00. Haven't seen them yet, so I don't know what kind of life they may have left. Hoping they are still in good shape, its nice to have spares. Pics of the boats coming soon. Also enjoyed some GREAT fish & chips and bought two books from a used book store- "Royce's Sailing Illustrated" and "Cruising Boat Sailing" by Bob Bond. Got them both for about $15.00 . Royce's book is great, a pictorial dictionary of all things sailing. All in all a great day! SO Cal- have you posted any pictures of your boat anywhere?
