It's hard to believe that there hasn't been a single posting for the Mediterranean in the destination section of this site. I've bareboat chartered many times in Croatia and Greece as well as cruised with friends in Sardegna and Corsica. I just love the Med, maybe, it's my Italian heritage. But, the natural beauty, history, and great cuisine make it an ideal bareboating experience and Croatia is a great introduction to everything the Mediterranean has to offer.

For details about bareboating in Croatia, check out my blog - BareboatingtheWorld-Croatia. it offers detailed area insights, mapped voyage logs, and photo galleries that will help you plan your trip to Croatia.

I totally agree with you ! During summer the Med is ideal.
I have myself sailed in Greece (Aegean Sea) and the Turkish coast, an unforgettable experience !
Whereas the Turkish coast is cheaper, there is a bigger fleet and more to see on the Greek Isles.

The Dodecanese are my favorites !

Ionians Great, Sporades not to bad either

Would love to go to Turkey. Maybe one day. I've been to the less famous Greek bareboating grounds.

Got to say, I loved the Ionian Islands, you feel like Odysseus on the Odyssey. The Sporades weren't too bad either with the highlight being a playful Mediterranean monk seal in Pattiri (Alonnisos) harbor and sailing the same waters where mother nature destroyed the Persian fleet to buy the famous 300 Spartans time and Achilles left for Troy.

Just can't beat the Med for history.
