When I finally get my wife to go for a sail on a 34-36 ft. boat I am worried that she will not find the cockpit seating comfortable and to the suggestion of going into the more comfortable seating of the cabin she will object by noting that being there defeats one of my selling points-that the views, the breeze, salt air etc. are so much fun.

Any comments or suggestions? Thanks.

The funny thing is that the very thing that will make your wife comfortable in the cockpit at anchor...will make her miserable at sea. And vice versa.

Big open cockpits...bad at sea. Small tight cockpits with high coaming...bad at anchor.
