Any ideas on the best way to rebuild the top part of this. The bottom section of the pocket had separated from top section. The previous owner just used bondo that did not last very long. I cut out the top section and need to replace that top seam. The pocket has lost it's shape somewhat so I need to bring the sides in a bit to match. I was considering making a form to put into place that will pull the sides in and then fill around it. If you have any experience or know what to do here I would greatly value your input.

Thanks

Gary

I would build up a collar of fiberglass around the lower portion and use it as a ferrule or socket to hold the upper portion in line and use epoxy and fiberglass to seal the two together. This would effectively make the dagger board trunk a single piece and reinforce the top end of the trunk.
