Daily Photo - Not Special, just often

Every day most of us click a photo or 2 on the phone.

This thread is for ordinary type photos that you snapped today.
They might be about the boat, about your life, or where you are.

They don't need to be artistic 'wow' photos, just a snap. 😊😊😊

They don't even need a caption.

Meet my $50,000 hole in the ground! A part of preparing my mom's house to go on the market was finding the old underground oil tank and removing it. The tank leaked. Now we have to remove all contaminated soil. So far we have removed 85 tons of contaminated soil and they are still digging.

This is the type of thing I am dealing with instead of playing with the boat!

I have a haul out coming up this spring and I will be doing a full polish and wax. It is hard work, but very satisfying!

I'm culling the herd of over 1000 pictures from the past couple of days at the Heineken Regatta in St. Martin and find it hard to know where to start. So here's one of the Volvo Open 70/65 class starting. We had one come to within less than a foot of our stern on this start and even a 24mm lens wasn't wide enough to catch that.

What were you doing that close to the start? Were you part of the RC?

New furniture washed up on our neighborhood beach this winter. You have to keep a close watch while you are under way with beasts like that floating around out there!

I'm sure the bikini and speedo clad Newfoundlanders are just out of sight...
It was only 12 degrees at the beach yet the bikinis were out! People swimming even!

12 C out of the wind, lying in the sun is good. 12 F is not so good LOLOL

To be the first of the season with a tan is important... girls for looks, guys for health - Vitamin D

As for swimming in 12 C air temp, whats the water temperature? Its got to be freezing!
Water temp was probably around 10°C. The ocean holds a lot of heat! In winter the water temp is usually warmer than air temp.

Quick followup on this project with a couple pics of the finished product. It’s far from perfect and I had to edit the original design (twice) and resew some parts, but the Admiral thinks it’ll provide perfect shade this summer. View attachment 147412

After a brief return of winter and a fresh dump of snow on the mountains we are back to some glorious spring weather! I am working on a 10 million dollar house high up on the mountainside looking down at English Bay and perfect sailing conditions! I gotta retire!

Waiting out an ice storm. A million people without power in Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec for the last 30+ hours.

Worst storm I have ever seen. Thunder and lightning during an ice storm, cracks of trees and branches falling went on for about 24 hours. Flooding, lots of flooding.

Has been fine for us, 3800 watt generator has been keeping our sump pump running, pumping a couple of tons of water an hour out of the basement. About half the houses on the street have generators, but every one has power for their sump pumps because those of us with gens, run extension cords to our neighbour's without, mostly elderly.

Around 2 this afternoon the sun came out and started to melt the ice off the trees.

Wow! I guess I won't complain about the rain forecast for the long weekend!

Wednesday night racing has started up again, and we had beautiful conditions. I was racing on a friend's Olson 30 in a phrf div full of 6 Meters. They rate equal to the O30, and it was a dogfight with the top 2 6m the whole race. It is so interesting that such radically different designs designed many decades apart can be so close in performance. We ended up finishing 3rd behind 2 6m, with a 3rd one right on our transom.
