Hi all. Occasionally I see a posting about someone wanting the above head unit. Today that someone is me. I am actually looking to replace it for a sailing buddy's boat, as his has not been working properly. I have a similar model and mine works in his boat, so that tells me his transducer is ok. So if anyone out there has one of these laying around in a box, or is about to do an instrument change out, I would appreciate maybe buying it from you. Costs to repair are not worth it, IMO. Thanks in advance.

The Datamarine depth unit operates on 200kHz. It will work just fine with a Norcross Hawkeye display. A refurbished system can be had for well under $100. And you will get a spare transducer for when that goes bad.

Thanks, JimsCAL. I see the dimensions are quite a bit different though. 5" for the Datamarine and 2" for the Norcross. I'm trying to prevent having to do much other than simply removing and re-installing the display. I will keep it in mind though.

When I did this I mounted the Norcross display in the old Datamarine housing. Took out the guts, epoxied a round piece of plexiglass in with a 2 inch hole for the Hawkeye display. Actually looks pretty good.

Will the transducer connection on the Datamarine CD 400 fit the transducer connection on the S200DL depth sounder?
