Hi just joined from little old NZ. It looks like I am in the process of buying a new boat and I was wondering if anyone has the polars for a Deerfoot 61 or similar?

Congrats on the new boat and welcome aboard. I had not heard of them, so looked them up. They sound pretty nice and built for punching your worldwide ticket. What's the plan for the vessel?

For cruising, I've never found polars all that helpful. Perhaps not even accurate, given aged sails or staying a bit conservative, when making super long passages. I just get out there on a new to me boat and get a feel for her. No doubt, it takes about a season of sailing before feeling like I even have the various points of sail dialed in. If ever. :)

I guess I am from a racing background, but I have done alot of cruising. Polars definitely enhance routeing decisions. They are just another tool. The plan for the boat is to sail it as much as possible. SE Asia, the S Pacific....the worlds best cruising grounds...
