I'm considering buying a sailboat that has an 8hp diesel Renault.

The Renault runs OK but I'm concerned about future parts and repairs.

Anyone have experience with these?

GREETINGS EARTHLINGS; They make nice trucks but have always been expensive for parts. If in doupt take it out . Check out availabillity of parts on the internet and prices any major work swop it. AS ALWAYS GO SAFE:

I have a renault scenic car...they are great engines overall with some issues with parts...I heard the diesel inboards were really heavy and stout but thats about it...I have not seen one in a boat yet do you know the model?

Their diesel line was sold and now produced by nannidiesel commonly known as Kubota.

I loved the nanni, slash vetus mitsu diesel we had on a boat I cruised on...loud but bulletproof...did a circumnav without even a hiccup...not even a fuel pump change
