The biggest drawback for having instant access to the best cruising area in, well, the known universe.
In the second picture, what is that boxy thing to the right of the boat with the glow in it? Could that be something I barely remember from my childhood called a horse, er no wait a second....house, that's it. Is THAT a house?

Doesn't look like that much snow to me. Come over and get some of mine and haul it to your place and it will make a better picture.

Can you send/ship some of that white stuff to washington on the LEFT coast! we have very little to none! should have 6-10' at local ski areas and mountains. As of the moment, some have as little as inches.........not good for more than one reason......

But at least, we can sail here all year long, including the winter......

"God's Country" shooah comes with a price, ayyuh it does.

But God is it beautiful in August, my wife and I (living then in Boston) took our honeymoon on a lent-as-wedding-gift 30' wooden cutter out of Sorrento, a beautiful week and still a burnished memory 40 years later..

Lake Pontchartrain and Mississipi Sound have their attractions to be sure, but might as well be on another planet compared to that summer and fall paradise between Rockand and Schoodic.

Tom,

Yessah! It's wick'd gooyd sailin' up heeyah. My lovely bride and I have spent the last six years sailing Casco Bay to Penobscot Bay. The past two week-long vacations have been spent sailing out of Camden and Rockland (trailerable) knocking about Penobscot from island to island, dodging lobster buoyies all the way. Nuthin' like it!

I am enjoying Ft Myers right now. Teaching sailing on weekends and the weather is great!

Although, I keep wondering about my boat which is tucked away for the winter in RI. 4+ feet of snow that have fallen where she is stored over the past few weeks, with more to come. This will put the shrinkwrap to the test...

But there's nothing that I can do about it until March.
